School Focus and Educational Goals
  1. Our educational curriculum and philosophy are based upon developmentally appropriate practices and a whole child philosophy.
  2. At PUNS, we share Piaget's belief that children learn by doing and that "Play is the work of childhood."
  3. In our program, children learn through play and through choosing and using a variety of learning centers in the classroom - figuring out how things work, interacting with each other, trying out new roles, experimenting with their own ideas, building on their own experiences, and solving real problems.
  4. When looking at a child's work, we always keep in mind that the processes children engage in as they learn to manipulate their world are more important than the actual products that they produce.
