Half Pints is a dynamic play-based learning program for our very youngest friends in which imagination and creativity is fostered through a combination of teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. Ample time is dedicated for discovery and independent exploration within a safe, nurturing and socially stimulating environment. The Half Pints program is centered on a familiar routine which allows for a daily rhythm that is predictable, yet flexible, allowing students, teachers and parents to make new discoveries and communicate and learn about topics that are most meaningful to the child. Our classroom is organized in an orderly and predictable way so that the children can freely and confidently engage in dramatic play, music and movement, building and working with manipulatives, self-help skills, and creative arts. Our simple, theme-based curriculum is designed to support the rapid growth and development that two-year-olds are experiencing in cognition, emerging language, motor skills, and healthy social-emotional interactions. We have created, in our Half Pints classroom, a warm and inviting atmosphere that will appeal to and inspire the two-year-old’s developing senses.
