We believe that play is the most important work of childhood.
At PUNS, we share Piaget's believe that children learn by doing and that play is the work of childhood. In our program, children learn through play and by engaging with a variety of learning centers and activities which change throughout the school year.
Our educational curriculum and philosophy are based on developmentally appropriate practices that nurture the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of each individual child.
We love to see our students happily involved in play! Our goal is to encourage every child who attends PUNS to enjoy their preschool experience, develop positive feelings about themselves, and to engage in creative play that encourages new friendships.
On January 2, 2015 our Education Director Emeritus, Kathy Frame, spoke on Channel 7 FOX Rochester to share with the Rochester community the factors that you should consider when selecting a preschool for your child. You can watch the video of Kathy's interview on Good Day Rochester here by clicking on play on the embedded video below. We have also created a worksheet for you to download, print and use for taking notes when interviewing the preschools that you are interested in.
